Embroidered logo mockup of what could have been

First Ascent

In 2008, I worked on preliminary design and development concepts for Eddie Bauer’s premier mountaineering apparel and product line - First Ascent. The original design direction included concepts to commemorate Jim Whittaker’s 1963 Mt. Everest summit. This type of branding project needed to recognize the differing types of end reproduction variables and limitations. Designing strictly high-end print or digital deliverables allows for a broader range of details and complexity. Designing brand deliverables that will be reproduced as hard and soft goods surface cosmetics, embroideries, hang tags, screen prints, and needing to be able to be scale to trade show booth and large outdoor environmental promotional banner sizes required understand how the design will be effected in each case.
The images below were the preliminary hand roughs and first draft vector files for color review. The project was completed internally moving to another direction.
